Course Description: In this introductory course, participants will learn all about the basics of playing guitar. This will include work on rhythm, chords, strumming and collaborating together as a group. No prior experience necessary although students already in the elementary stage are welcome! All guitars will be provided for the week. Please bring water and a snack. Registration is now open!
Who is this camp for?
- In Guitar Basics, we aim to introduce newcomers to the world of rock and pop music through the guitar.
- Kids as young as six years old are welcome to join. The oldest for this camp will be twelve.
- Students will learn their first chord shapes, how to strum and how to play single-string melodies.
- By the end of the week, campers will play a song together.
- The guitar playing is interspersed with games, crafts and activities to give the fingers a break!
- All the guitars are provided, but campers are welcome to bring their own instruments!
