Explore the World of Movie Soundtracks
Course Description: In this new course for 2023, students will explore how music is used in their favourite movies to create excitement, drama and action! Using the skills they learn, students will then compose their own soundtrack to a short movie clip, using live instruments to explore new sonic worlds. We hope students will leave this camp with a fresh understanding of how music can change our emotions, moods and perspective.
Who is this camp for?
- In Score! we aim to introduce newcomers to the world of movie soundtracks as an aspect of filmmaking.
- Kids as young as six years old are welcome to join. The oldest for this camp will be twelve.
- Students will explore their favourite movies, and why the soundtracks seem to fit the movie so well.
- Instruments will also be incorporated, with some basic keyboard skills taught early in the week.
- We will also play games, make crafts and play outdoors.
